Living Legacy
Anniversary, Festive Hall, Music
On September 15 we once again arrive at a festive moment: on this day, 146 years ago, the Székely National Museum became a community institution. This year, on this important date, we inaugurate the renovated and modernized festive hall, which proudly bears the name of Béla Bartók.
Festive Program:
– The event opens with the music of Béla Bartók
– Greeting by Mihály Vargha, director of the Székely National Museum and by Sándor Tamás, president of the Covasna County Council
– Lecture by Dr. Zsolt Sári, deputy director of the Szentendre Village Museum:
“Only from a Pure Source – Béla Bartók’s Concert in Sfântu Gheorghe”
– Guided tour of the exhibition Mrs. Cserey – 200. We Are Reborn! with Dr. Enikő Szőcsné Gazda, ethnographer of the museum
– With the participation of: flute teacher Katalin Császár and organ & piano teacher László-Levente Szabó-Siklódi, faculty members of the “Plugor Sándor” Art High School
This day is for us a celebration of renewed heritage: we remember our founder, Emília Cserey Zathureczky, and at the same time pay tribute to the legacy of Béla Bartók.
With this celebration we wish to thank all those who have contributed to preserving the museum’s values and invite the members of our community to celebrate together with us the birthday of the Székely National Museum.
